If you want to send HDMI video from your PC, laptop, DVR, or set-top box to a TV placed far away using a simple LAN cable, this HDMI to RJ45 CAT6 extender is the perfect solution. The exact device shown in the image above is a TX (Transmitter) and RX (Receiver) HDMI extender pair that works over a CAT5e/CAT6 network cable and does not require any external power adapter. It is designed for long-distance HDMI video sharing where a normal HDMI cable cannot reach, making it ideal for CCTV rooms, offices, shops, projectors, and TVs placed in different rooms.
What this device does
This HDMI to RJ45 converter converts the HDMI signal into a format that can travel through a CAT6 cable and then converts it back to HDMI at the TV side. This allows you to extend your display up to long distances using a thin, affordable LAN cable instead of a thick, costly HDMI cable.
