If the Self Transfer (Pay to Self) option is not showing in your Google Pay app, you are not alone. Many users on both Android phones and iPhone face this issue where they cannot find the option to transfer money between their own bank accounts. This problem usually happens due to bank linking issues, app version glitches, or not knowing the exact place where Google has placed this feature inside the app. The good news is that the feature is still available, and you can easily access it using the correct methods below.
[Check & Manage All Google Account Details (Password, Gmail, Subscriptions, Pay, Chrome)]
Method 1 — Use Bank Transfer → To Self (Direct Way)
Open Google Pay app on your phone, tap on Bank transfer, look at the top tabs and tap on To self, select the bank account you want to transfer from, select the bank account you want to transfer to, enter the amount, tap Next, enter your UPI PIN and complete the payment. This is the official place where Google has kept the Self Transfer feature.
Method 2 — Use Pay Anyone Search Trick (Hidden Way)
Open Google Pay, tap on Pay anyone, in the search box type Self transfer, you will see the Self Transfer option appear in results, tap on it, select your bank accounts, enter the amount, tap Next and complete the payment using your UPI PIN. This method works even when you cannot find the option normally.
Method 3 — Make Sure Two Bank Accounts Are Added
Open Google Pay, tap on your Profile photo, open Bank account, check that at least two bank accounts are linked with UPI, if not tap Add bank account and complete the linking process. Self Transfer will not appear if only one bank account is added.
Method 4 — Update the Google Pay App
Open Play Store or App Store, search Google Pay, tap Update if available, open the app again and check the Bank transfer → To self section. Many times the feature does not appear because of an outdated app version.
Method 5 — Clear App Cache (Android Only)
Open phone Settings, open Apps, open Google Pay, tap Storage & cache, tap Clear cache, open Google Pay again and check for the option.
Method 6 — Check UPI and Region Settings
Ensure your mobile number is linked with your bank, UPI is active on both accounts, and you are using the India version of Google Pay. This feature works only for Indian UPI accounts.
Common Problems & Fixes
Self Transfer tab not visible — use Pay anyone search method.
Only one bank account showing — add another account in Bank account section.
Option disappeared after update — clear cache and reopen the app.
Transfer failing — check UPI PIN and bank server status.
Conclusion
Google Pay has not removed the Self Transfer feature; it is just placed in a different location that many users miss. By using Bank transfer → To self or the Pay anyone search trick, you can quickly access the option and transfer money between your own bank accounts on both Android and iPhone without any extra app.
