If your Xbox App or Xbox Live keeps showing sign-in errors on Windows, such as 0x8009030d, 0x80004005, 0x80045C3C, 0x89235107, 0x87DD0005, 0x87DD0013, or 0x80073cfc, this guide explains every working method to fix the problem. Follow these steps one by one to fully restore your Xbox login on Windows.
1) Change Date and Time as per Your Country and Region
Incorrect time settings can instantly break Xbox sign-in and Microsoft account login.
Steps:
• Open Settings → Time & language
• Enable Set time automatically
• Enable Set time zone automatically
• Click Sync now under Additional settings
• Go to Region and make sure your region is set to your actual country
Setting accurate time ensures secure login authentication with Xbox Live servers.
2) Repair or Reset the Xbox App and Microsoft Store
If the Xbox app is corrupted, it can block sign-in.
Steps to Repair Xbox App:
• Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps
• Search Xbox
• Click Advanced options
• Scroll down and click Repair
If Repair does not work:
• Click Reset (Warning: Reset will delete app data such as saved settings, but not your games)
For Microsoft Store:
• Go to Settings → Apps
• Find Microsoft Store → Advanced options
• First choose Repair, and if needed choose Reset
Repairing both apps fixes most sign-in failures caused by corrupted components.
3) Run Network Repair Commands Using CMD
Broken network configurations can also prevent Xbox login.
Steps:
• Open Command Prompt (Run as Administrator)
• Type this command and press Enter:
ipconfig /flushdns
• Then run this command:
netsh winsock reset
• Restart your PC
This clears old DNS cache, resets the Winsock catalog, and fixes hidden network conflicts affecting Xbox services.
4) Enable and Start Required Xbox Services
Xbox relies on multiple background services. If any of them is disabled or stopped, sign-in will fail.
Steps:
• Press Win + R → type services.msc → press Enter
Find the following services:
• Xbox Accessory Management Service
• Xbox Live Auth Manager
• Xbox Live Game Save
• Xbox Live Networking Service
For each service:
• Double-click the service
• Set Startup type to Automatic
• Click Start
• Click Apply and OK
Once all services are enabled and running, restart your system and try signing in again.
5) Remove Xbox Windows Credentials (Account Conflicts Fix)
Old or corrupted Windows credentials can prevent Xbox from verifying your Microsoft account.
Steps:
• Open Control Panel
• Select Credential Manager
• Click Windows Credentials
• Look for entries named Xbox, XBL, or MicrosoftAccount
• Click each entry and choose Remove
• Restart your PC
After reboot, open the Xbox App and sign in again. This forces Windows to create fresh credentials and usually fixes all account authorization issues.
6) Disable VPN or Proxy (If Active)
Xbox Live does not work properly when connected to a VPN or Proxy because it blocks secure authentication.
Steps:
• Disconnect from any VPN
• If using a Proxy:
• Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy
• Turn off Use a proxy server
Once VPN and Proxy are disabled, Xbox Live will connect normally to your region’s servers.
