If you booked T20 World Cup tickets on BookMyShow and now want to send them to your friends or family, you don’t need to cancel the booking. BookMyShow gives a Transfer Ticket option that lets you securely send cricket match, live show, and event tickets to another person using their mobile number. This guide explains the complete process, when the transfer option appears, and what to do if it is not visible.
When Does the Transfer Ticket Option Appear?
The Transfer Ticket button usually becomes available 1 day before the match or event, sometimes only a few hours before the start time. If you cannot see the option right after booking, don’t worry—check again closer to the event date.
Requirements Before Transferring Tickets
Both sender and receiver must have the BookMyShow app installed
The receiver must have a BookMyShow account with the same mobile number you are sending the ticket to
Tickets must be eligible for transfer (some organizer-restricted events do not allow transfer)
Steps to Transfer T20 World Cup Tickets on BookMyShow
Open the BookMyShow app on your phone, tap on Profile, open Your Orders, select your T20 World Cup match booking, scroll down and tap Transfer Ticket, select the seat or tickets you want to transfer, choose the contact from your phonebook or enter the mobile number manually, confirm the transfer and tap Send.
What Happens After You Send the Ticket
The receiver will get a notification in the BookMyShow app, they need to open the app, go to Profile → Your Orders, tap on the Received Ticket, press Accept, and the ticket will be added to their account. Once accepted, you will no longer be able to use that ticket.
How to Transfer Multiple Tickets to Different People
Open your booking in Your Orders, tap Transfer Ticket, select multiple seats, assign different contacts for each ticket, confirm and send. Each person will receive only their assigned seat.
If Transfer Ticket Option Is Not Showing
Check the event date—option appears only near the match time
Update the BookMyShow app from Play Store or App Store
Log out and log in again
Make sure the event allows ticket transfer
Wait a few hours and check again (it is often enabled in phases)
Important Rules You Should Know
Transferred tickets cannot be taken back once accepted
Each ticket can be transferred only once
QR code works only from the receiver’s account after acceptance
Screenshot sharing will not work for entry in most stadiums
Transfer for Live Shows and Other Events
The same steps work for concert tickets, movie tickets, comedy shows, and live events. Just open the booking and use the Transfer Ticket option when it becomes available.
Common Problems and Quick Fixes
Transfer button missing → Wait until 24 hours before event
Receiver not getting ticket → Ask them to open Profile → Your Orders → Received
Wrong number entered → Cancel before they accept and send again
App not showing booking → Update app and refresh orders
Final Tips
Always transfer tickets only through the BookMyShow app
Make sure the receiver accepts the ticket before reaching the stadium
Do not share screenshots—only accepted tickets with QR code are valid for entry
This method works for T20 World Cup cricket matches, live shows, and all supported BookMyShow events.
