If your Ethernet cable is connected but the internet is not working in Windows, the problem is usually related to network settings, IP configuration, system time, corrupted network cache, or missing network drivers. The good news is that you can fix this issue yourself by following the methods below carefully, one by one.
1) Enable Ethernet in Windows Network Settings
Open Settings go to Network & Internet click Advanced network settings
Under Network adapters check Ethernet
If Ethernet is disabled click Enable
Close Settings
2) Set IP Address Automatic for IPv4
Open Settings go to Network & Internet click Advanced network settings
Click More network adapter options
Right-click Ethernet click Properties
Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
Select Obtain an IP address automatically, select Obtain DNS server address automatically
Click OK close all windows
3) Set Date & Time as per Your Country and Region
Open Settings go to Time & Language click Date & time
Turn ON Set time automatically, turn ON Set time zone automatically
If needed select the correct Time zone manually
Close Settings
4) Troubleshoot Network and Internet
Open Settings go to System click Troubleshoot
Click Other troubleshooters
Click Run next to Network Adapter
Select Ethernet and let Windows fix the problem
Close Settings after completion
5) Reset Network Using CMD
Right-click Start open Terminal (Admin)
Type netsh int ip reset press Enter
Type netsh winsock reset press Enter
Type ipconfig /release press Enter
Type ipconfig /renew press Enter
Type ipconfig /flushdns press Enter
Close Command Prompt restart your PC and try to use internet
6) Get Back Missing Network Adapter Driver
Right-click Start open Device Manager
Click Action select Scan for hardware changes
Expand Network adapters
Right-click Ethernet adapter click Update driver
Select Browse my computer for drivers
Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers
Select the correct driver and install it
After installation is complete restart your PC
